Vineland Crisis Respite for Children
The children’s home opened in July 1991 with the sole purpose of serving the needs of children with developmental disabilities. Since its opening our goal has always been the same: “Understand each child is different and accommodate the needs of that child”. To facilitate this process it is mandatory that each child, along with their primary care giver, be met with prior to the first admission. This assessment, completed by our assessment team, must take place in the individuals own home. This assessment is a necessary tool as it provides the team with direct knowledge of the individual. This information is then brought back to the program so that the staff in the program can adequately prepare and provide for the needs of the child during his or her stay. The assessment takes approximately one hour and is schedule during weekday business hours. Unfortunately, the home is not barrier free and therefore can not accommodate persons who use a wheelchair. To access services for this program the individual must be DDD eligible and a referral must be made through the DDD Case Manager. |
